The air is different; the smell of fresh football on Saturday's suddenly has a rotten stench to it. The whispers populate campus and the tension squeezes the life out of excitement. Clouds of uncertainty cover the once bright state of this illustrious football program. Is this the smooth transition that was promised when Jimbo Fisher signed his "head coach in waiting" contract?
There is no denying the frustration that has taken over the Seminoles after being told for 7 straight years to be patient. Recruiting classes have come and gone but results have been, mediocre at best. Mediocre?

Service Quality is defined by many experts as Performance-Expectations. When Bobby arrived at Florida State in 1976, FSU had won just four games over the previous three seasons. Bobby has not seen a losing season since his first year. I remind you; Service Quality = Performance- ExpectationsBobby has, by himself, set the latter so high that he is responsible for the recent petitions to send him fishing. Bobby, by finishing in the top 4 for 14 STRAIGHT YEARS!...By winning 2 National Championship...By Posting 300 wins at Florida State (.79 Win Pct)...by bringing in more Revenue numbers than any other University employee (by a long shot), has set the expectations so high that it has people calling for his firing.

Bobby is a legend, a God, and the main reason anyone knows Florida State football; or in the case of many, Florida State University as a whole. He means so much not only to Florida State but to college football as a whole. He built this program from the ground (and I mean ground) up. Don't get me wrong, It has been mediocre (at best); but Bobby himself and the expectations he has created are the reason why 83,000 people in Doak think that what they see on Saturdays is mediocre. Pay Bobby the respect he's earned and have the program move on the in the right way. Professionally, discreetly and behind the scenes with no media involved. Jim Smith, as the chair of the board, I understand you love Florida State University and I might agree that it is time to move on, but please (please) do it in the way Mr. Bowden deserves.Wear black this weekend if you want to show the rest of the world that you know nothing about FSU tradition, College football and Bobby Bowden. Wear GARNET this Saturday if you love college football, if you love your campus...if you love Florida State University!
